2012 College Grants
The Tri County Aids Coalition was formed in 1992 by a group of friends who wanted to help those infected by the AIDS crisis, which came about in the early 1980's. Since its inception, The Tri County Aids Coalition has raised more than $200,000.00 to benefit local HIV patients and organizations that provide services to those affected and infected with the HIV virus.
Since the AIDS epidemic began in the early 1980's, medical research has gained great strides in prolonging the lives of those with HIV-AIDS. Now HIV positive patients can be helped with a mixture of prescribed drugs and homeopathic medications, as well as nutritious foods and spiritual counseling.
The Tri County Aids Coalition is proud to announce our second group of grants to be awarded to local senior high school students, as well as local college students in the Stark, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties that are going to pursue a college education in the medical field with the possibility of working for the betterment of people living with HIV-AIDS. The need for educated professionals in the medical fields associated with HIV-AIDS and educating our youth are both critical elements to bringing the HIV-AIDS crisis to an ultimate end.
The Executive Board and Membership of The Tri County Aids Coalition will be very proud to award you one of our six $1000.00 grants for this 2012 grant year, should you be chosen as a grant award recipient. Please use the grant monies received for the purposes intended. Get your education and then "Give Back" to those who have helped you along the way.
